Vantaan Taksi Consumer Transportation Service Terms and Conditions

General

These Terms and Conditions apply to the consumer transportation service provided by Vantaan Taksi Oy through the ordering application supplied by Intoit Oy. The terms of use of the ordering application must also be read separately within the application. By registering for the application and using Vantaan Taksi’s transportation services, you accept these Terms and Conditions and agree to comply with them.

Through the application, the User may, among other things:

  • Order taxi transportation immediately or in advance
  • Manage and cancel orders
  • View order history
  • Store contact and payment information
  • Receive notifications related to orders.

If you do not accept these Terms and Conditions, do not use the transportation service.

Vantaan Taksi reserves the right to deny the User access to the service or close the User account if the User violates these Terms and Conditions, misuses the service, acts unlawfully, or fails to make payments.

Definitions

”Vantaan Taksi Oy” – the provider of the transportation service

”Intoit Oy” – the application service provider

”Transportation Service” – the transportation service ordered through the Vantaan Taksi application and provided by a transport operator or driver operating under Vantaan Taksi.

”User” – a natural person or legal entity using the service or application.

Contractual Relationship

When the User starts using the application or places a transportation order through the application, a contractual relationship is established between the User and Vantaan Taksi Oy in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

The Transportation Service is provided by a transport operator or driver belonging to the Vantaan Taksi network. Vantaan Taksi is responsible for providing the service, transmitting orders, and customer service.

User Account and Registration

Use of the application requires the creation of a user account. User accounts registered in the application are personal. A person under the age of 18 may register for the application; however, this requires that the guardian has reviewed and accepted these Terms and Conditions before the service is used. Use of the Transportation Service also requires entering a payment card or another payment method into the application.

The User undertakes to provide accurate and up-to-date information, update any changed information without delay, and store login credentials carefully. The User undertakes to notify Vantaan Taksi immediately of any suspected misuse.

The User is responsible for all use carried out through their credentials until notification of misuse has been received.

Ordering Transportation

By using the application, the User places a binding order for taxi transportation. Orders may be placed immediately or in advance. The User must enter all information necessary for carrying out the transportation, such as the exact pickup and destination addresses.

The User is responsible for ensuring that the information provided is accurate. Incorrect information may cause delays, additional costs, or prevent the transportation order from being fulfilled. Vantaan Taksi is not liable for orders made with incorrect information.

Acceptance of an order in the application does not always mean immediate transportation confirmation, as availability depends on factors such as time, area, vehicle availability, traffic conditions, and demand. Any estimated arrival times shown in the application are estimates only, and arrival within the estimated time cannot be guaranteed.

Prices and Payment

The transportation price is determined according to the price list valid at the time. A fixed price is shown to the customer in the application before confirming the transportation order. The price includes the applicable value-added tax.

Transportation orders are charged directly through the payment method selected by the customer in the application. Payment card information stored in the Vantaan Taksi application is stored only in the payment service provider’s (Stripe) system, and Vantaan Taksi does not store card information in its own systems.

The taxi fare will be charged no later than at the end of the transportation. During order confirmation, a pre-authorization will be made on the payment method added to the profile. The pre-authorization amount equals the price shown in the application. The customer will receive a receipt at the email address specified in the application.

If there are insufficient funds on the payment card at the start of the transportation, the transportation must be paid in full directly to the driver in the vehicle. In such cases, the receipt will be provided directly by the driver.

The User may cancel the transportation free of charge in the application before the transportation begins. In such cases, the pre-authorization will also be cancelled.

Transportation includes 5 minutes of waiting time at the pickup address. If the User does not arrive within a reasonable time, the driver may cancel the order and leave the location.

Vantaan Taksi reserves the right to charge the transportation fee if the User does not arrive at the ordered pickup location within a reasonable time.

Promotional Codes

Vantaan Taksi may send you campaign-specific discount codes. The codes may be used to pay for rides in the application. Details of the promotional code will be displayed directly in the application once the code has been entered.

If the final amount of the ride exceeds the credit granted for the ride, the remaining amount will automatically be charged from the payment method linked to the account. Only one promotional code may be used per ride.

Vantaan Taksi reserves the right to cancel any promotional code at its discretion. This also applies in situations where Vantaan Taksi considers that the codes have been used unlawfully or improperly, the code has been granted erroneously, or the code has expired.

User Obligations During Transportation

The User undertakes to behave appropriately during transportation. The User must not:

  • Endanger the driver, vehicle, or other passengers 
  • Cause disturbance 
  • Damage the vehicle 
  • Use the service for unlawful purposes 
  • Provide misleading information 

The User is liable for any damages caused in accordance with applicable law.

Seat belt requirements and other traffic safety regulations must be followed.

Service Availability

Vantaan Taksi aims to keep the service continuously available but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Interruptions may occur due to maintenance work, telecommunications network disruptions, hardware or software failures, or force majeure events.

Vantaan Taksi reserves the right to modify, update, suspend, or terminate the service or any part thereof.

Data Protection

Vantaan Taksi processes User data in accordance with the applicable Privacy Policy (https://vantaantaksi.fi/tietosuojaseloste/ ). Vantaan Taksi Oy acts as the data controller responsible for processing the personal data you provide. By registering for the application and providing personal data, you accept that Vantaan Taksi and Intoit Oy process your personal data as described in their privacy policies.

The User may delete their data through the application by pressing the “Delete Account” button in the application profile view.

The User’s personal data will also be transferred to the subcontractor carrying out the transportation. More information about recipients of personal data and processing purposes can be found in the Privacy Policy.

  • Intellectual Property Rights

All rights related to the application and the service, including software, trademarks, logos, content, appearance, and technical solutions, belong either to Vantaan Taksi or to Intoit Oy, the application provider.

The User is granted a limited, personal, non-exclusive, and revocable right to use the service in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

The User does not have the right to resell or otherwise commercially exploit the application or its content.

Information or technology related to the application may not be modified, copied, reverse engineered, decompiled, decrypted, stripped of copyrights, trademarks, or other similar rights, nor may information obtained from the application be transferred without prior written permission from Vantaan Taksi Oy or Intoit Oy.

Limitation of Liability

Vantaan Taksi shall not be liable for indirect damages, such as loss of income, loss of profit, interruption of business, loss of data, or other indirect damages that may be caused to the User or a third party due to interruptions, unavailability, termination, or other deficiencies in the application or its content. Vantaan Taksi shall also not be liable for defects or disruptions arising from the use of the application.

Vantaan Taksi’s liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific order, unless the damage was caused intentionally or through gross negligence.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits the User’s rights under mandatory consumer protection legislation.

Changes to the Terms and Conditions

Vantaan Taksi may update these Terms and Conditions. Material changes will be announced in the application, on the website, or by another appropriate method.

The updated Terms and Conditions will enter into force on the date indicated.

Applicable Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Finland. Disputes concerning these Terms and Conditions shall primarily be resolved through negotiation. If no settlement can be reached through negotiation, disputes shall be resolved in the local court.

Consumers may also submit disputes to the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board.
